Went up to Afan with Nigel to do the recently-reopened Wall trail. Excellent!!! Really good ride. I\'d forgotten how good this trail is.

After a bite to eat at the centre, we set off to do Penhydd. It was so dry, we even did the normally \'orribly boggy bit (Brashy Track; Green Run; Frog Corner; A Ridge too Far). Brashy Track is a great pice of singletrack, but the rest of that section is no fun with a huge, boring climb back out almost to where you started the section. It wasn\'t too boggy, but there were odd patches of deeeeeeep mud (despite no rain for 1 month!).

On the way down Sidewinder - fast, flowing, stony singletrack, my bike failed to make a gentle turn & I was unceremoniously deposited in the only pile of vicious brambles on the trail, shredding my legs. Turns out my front tyre was completely flat. When I checked out the inner tube back at home, it was a pinch flat alright, but bigger than anything I\'ve seen before! Definitely unrepairable. Turned a 5 star day into a 4 star day.
